Planning a night’s stop in GUERRO NEGRO? We stayed at a super NEW MOTEL (only 3 months old) called TERRASAL HOTEL. Tel. (615) 157-01-33, Email:
_hotelterrasal@hotmail.com._ (mailto:hotelterrasal@hotmail.com.) You can e-mail ahead and they will reply in English. It’s just as you enter the town, on the right hand side before you get to Cowboy Motel, which is on the left.
Newly built, freshly painted in oranges and yellows, very attractive. 550 pesos a night. The room was large, had two queen sized beds and a wonderful roomy shower. We had our dog and cat with us, and they never asked about pets. There is a very nice small restaurant on site. The food was good and freshly made. There were only two other cars there, and this was on Nov.
2nd. We’d like to help keep them in business, so we’re passing the word along so people will consider using them.

Loteto food and rooms

Post by dean on Sun Oct 19, 2014 5:58 am

For very reasonable accommodations, but slightly rustic (rustic means cheap and old and without frills), you might try Hotel Plaza Loreto at Ave Hidalgo #2.  It is smack in the middle of old town Loreto across from the Mission and 3 blocks from the water and the boardwalk. The reason I submit this one is because it is one of my favorites and it is cheap and has an optimal location if you want to get the real deal feel of Loreto.

If you want much nicer accommodations (pool, cocktail bar, better TV, newer) at about $35 to $60 more per day than Hotel Plaza Loreto, then try Hacienda Suites about 1 KM farther away than the Hotel Plaza Loreto (close to Hwy 1 main entrance into Loreto).  It's next door to my favorite restaurant and Bar, the El Nido Steakhouse where they have a fantastic dining patio (almost like the one in the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas, but much smaller) and the best Porterhouse steak and steamed clams anywhere in the world.

A quick check of the internet at this web address: http://www.loreto.com/nightlife.htm, and you will find everything you need with addresses and phone numbers.

c.  Hotel Angra is waiting for you on your next stop in Loreto,  the rate  670 pesos per night per room (1 or 2 people), tax included, a light breakfast as courtesy, and we are pet friendly. Spacious rooms, ssecure parking lot, cable tv, air conditioning, wifi.  www.hotelangra.com  Ana Carranza Tel. (613) 1351172 and my cell phone (613)1170894 , atencionalhuesped@hotelangra.com , ana.carranza@hotelangra.com

Holy Crap. We just got into town yesterday afternoon, & checked out Santa Fe Hotel. $999.00 pesos for two people. We passed. Then down to Las Flores and was over $100.00 for two people. Then over to Coco Cabana, and SCORED!!!!! $59.00 for just a room per night. And these folks are absolutely committed to customer satisfaction. Met folks from Albany Oregon at the great pool. (we're from Roseburg Or) small world stuff works at it's finest in Loreto. We drove down Davis, but must have missed the 'mess' because we took another street then turned into Coco Cabana. Didn't detect any odor while sitting around the pool visiting?????
Barb & Ed. See ya while we are here.
Cocos Cabanas is very good. I have heard that Iguana Inn can't open because of standing water on the property. Another good choice is SuKasa Bungalows at 35-55/night.

Coco Cabanas is a nice place. However, just on the next block down Salvatierra from Santa Fe, and next door to Domingo's Place restaurant is Hacienda Suites. Currently their rates are the same as Coco. Nice rooms. Big pool. Bar and restaurant on site.

Vicente Guerrero room and food

Post by dean on Mon Jun 24, 2013 10:40 pm

http://www.posadadondiego.com/

Posada Don Diego, commonly referred by it's clients simply as Don Diego or the Posada, is a well known restaurant located in Vicente Guerrero, about four hours south of Ensanada, Baja California, Mexico. It is family owned and operated, and geared for couples families and groups, with great Mexican and American style food. The restaurant is open from 7:00AM till 9:00PM, every day of the week, and is capable of hosting almost any kind of event, be it a party, a board meeting, or a romantic night out for a couple. Employees at the restaurant are bilingual, speaking English and Spanish, and will do their best to make sure your time is well enjoyed. Come relax and enjoy yourself, and partake in some amazing food as well! You will not be disappointed!

san Quintin hotel La Pinta.

Post by dean on Mon Jun 24, 2013 10:35 pm

I just got back from a three week trip to Loreto and have some information about the Mision Santa Maria Hotel( formerly the Desert Inn-La Pinta-El Presidente). It is located south of San Quintin on the ocean. You turn right (west) at the intersection where the Los Pinos packing plant and new Pemex station is located. This is also the road that leads to the Cielito Lindo Motel. The rooms are very nice and all have a drop dead view of the beach and ocean. I have stayed here many times over the years and much prefer it to staying in either San Quintin or El Rosario because of the beauty and quiet. Seeing dolphins playing in the surf is not unusual. The food in the restaurant is good, especially if they have stone crabs on the menu. The rooms used to cost around $80 but the price has been lowered to about $45 and they accept pets. Enjoy!

Tony- If you are coming from the South, you can take the old highway to the left at the fork. It is well signed. Otherwise, as Hansen mentioned make the turn at Los Pinos by the new Pemex.   It's just a couple of miles and the road is in good condition. I will say, however, that whatever improvements they have made, no one should confuse this place with a resort.

First, the La Pinta chain changed its name to Desert Inn a few years ago. Second, it's the folks from Los Pinos who bought the property. I can't imagine they wouldn't have a vacancy for walk-ins, as it is one of the larger properties around. That said, if it's the pet issue, you might try calling (616) 165-9008. That was the local number for the hotel under the Desert Inn ownership. I cannot imagine they would have changed their number. Call and ask about pets. Also, adjacent to the Villas de San Quintin is another excellent property called Maria Celeste. Their number is (616) 165-3999. You can call to inquire about the pet thing.

hotel San Quintin and Santa Rosalia

Post by dean on Thu May 12, 2011 7:33 am

LPG
I cross at Tecate and drive to San Quintin and stay at Baja Jardines--you will not find anything nicer or more secure--the owners' son has a nice restaurant next door--I always get room three

Best San Quintin Hotel is Hotel Jardines Baja www.hotel-jardinesbaja.com/

Beautiful Hotel Jardines Baja is just south of San Quintin, with Jardines Restaurant and Bar next door. The hotel is 1 mile south of Hwy 1 and about a mile ...

Then I drive the next day to Santa Rosalia and stay at Las Casitas and eat at the restaurant in the El Morro motel next door.

www.santarosaliacasitas.com/
http://www.hotel-jardinesbaja.com/id107.html

$35.00
arriving to San Quintin, via Highway 1, from the major cities of Tijuana to Ensenada you will enjoy some of the most spectacular coastal landscape and beautiful Pacific Ocean views Baja has to offer. We suggest taking the toll road that has easy access to some of the beach community shops and restaurants in the event you want to stop.

About 25 miles south of Ensenada you will enter the Santo Tomas wine country that extends on down to San Vicente where you will start heading back towards the coast at Punta Colonet and on to San Quintin. The drive from the border to San Quintin should take about 4 hours.

Immediately after leaving San Quintin you pass through the small town of Cardenas and, a few miles south, there is a large sign over the highway indicating a right turn for "B. OF SAN QUINTIN" (Bay of San Quintin). Turn right.  Go about 1 mile, where you will see a sign for Hotel Baja Jardines.  Turn left.  The hotel is about one-half mile down on the right.  The restaurant is on the same road just past the hotel.

When driving from San Diego we found a motel just south of El Rosario.
"Turista Motel Baja California", it was clean and comfortable with a
nice shower. A room with a king bed cost us 300 pesos. I forgot to ask
if it was pet friendly but the number is 616-165-8999 at KM 55

We traveled north to Tecate border crossing, April 1-3. The dessert flowers were beautiful. Stayed in a very nice motel about 2 miles north of Colonet on the west side of the road. Not sure if we remember the name, possibly Sonora. It is a reddish brown building. It was only 300 pesos, they spoke English and our room had a nice hot shower and big fluffy towels. They were also pet friendly. The roads were in good shape. The construction we encountered coming down on Hiway 3 was completed. We were in line for an hour at the border, but had fun, buying food from the venders. The tamales and churros were still hot and delicious. We crossed the day before the earthquake. Looking forward to coming back in November. Patti

Upon returning to California we stayed at Hotel Jardin-Baja in San Quintin. Carmen and Guillermo were great hosts. Hotel is immaculate! Rates are very reasonable (from 380 to 500 pesos). Extremely comfortable beds. Complimentary morning coffee. Pet friendly. The adjacent restaurant (closed on Mon) was wonderful . . .great food . . very fair prices! Highly recommend this property. It makes it an easy drive to the border (4.5 hours via Tecate) so you can cross noonish when traffic is almost nonexistent! We had no wait in line on Mon. the 7th Dec.
