shower drain trap and septic smell

here is a picture of the typical shower trap and how hair gets stuck and wicks the water out of the trap so it dries out and the trap no longer keeps the septic smell from entering the room.
note the screwdriver i popped the lid out with and I cleaned out the entire trap of sand and hair. so now it lasts months with the cover on it.
